Matthew "Mero" Faitel is a Canadian professional Fortnite player widely regarded as the most accomplished controller player in competitive history. With six FNCS titles, over $1 million in tournament earnings, and a victory at the 2023 FNCS Global Championship, Mero has cemented his place among Fortnite's legends.
His competitive rise began in 2020 when he won Chapter 2 Season 4 alongside Deyy and Reverse2k, later reuniting with the same trio for another title in Chapter 2 Season 6. In 2021, Mero trio'd with Bugha and Muz to win Chapter 2 Season 8 and the Grand Royale. His successful partnership with Bugha continued into 2022, winning Chapter 3 Season 1 while consistently placing top-three in subsequent seasons.
In 2023, Mero joined forces with Cooper after a period of difficulty finding elite teammates following his temporary departure from competition. What began with a literal coin flip culminated in the duo capturing the prestigious FNCS Global Championship, securing $500,000 and affirming Mero’s ability to perform on LAN.
Mero is known for his aggressive yet composed playstyle and clutch performances under pressure. His legacy as a six-time FNCS champion and Global Champion places him firmly among Fortnite's most legendary names in competitive history.
